Basic Tools Workshops
Description/Purpose
These are a set of workshops that provide hands-on experience in the use of specific tools. The focus is on the basic tools used in quality improvement, but these are sometimes the most powerful. Properly applied, the simple tools for improvement can yield dramatic results. The sessions are typically 1-3 hours long and provide the practitioner with the skills to apply the methodology to specific areas of interest. When possible, real data will be used from a customer problem.
Course Content
Examples of some basic tools would be:
- Flowchart
- Check Sheet
- Pareto Chart
- Histogram
- Cause-and-Effect Diagram
- Scatter Plot
- Control Chart
